Samsung Redesigns Galaxy Watch Series

Samsung has introduced its thinnest Galaxy Watch to date with the new Galaxy Watch8 series, featuring redesigned internal structures and a Dynamic Lug system for improved comfort and health tracking accuracy.

Key health upgrades include Bedtime Guidance based on circadian rhythm analysis, Vascular Load tracking to assess cardiovascular stress during sleep, and an Antioxidant Index, the first of its kind on a smartwatch, which measures carotenoid levels in just five seconds to inform healthy ageing habits.

Also launched is the Running Coach with fitness-level scoring and personalised training plans, as well as a High Stress Alert with real-time stress tracking and breathing guidance. Samsung’s new AI-powered Energy Score combines physical and mental data to offer daily wellness insights.

The Galaxy Watch8 series is also the first to ship with Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, and runs on Wear OS 6, enabling natural voice commands for tasks such as navigation, messaging and fitness tracking. The new One UI 8 Watch adds optimised UI with Multi-Info Tiles, a Now Bar and depthless notifications.

The Galaxy Watch8, Galaxy Watch8 Classic, and the rugged Galaxy Watch Ultra are available for pre-order now, with general availability beginning July 25. The Galaxy Ring was also introduced as a discreet alternative with up to 7-day battery life and continuous health tracking.
