Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest innovation in air conditioning with the launch of the WindFree™ Combo, elevating its flagship product’s capabilities to offer improved cooling and dehumidification.
The new model, introduced in 2025, is equipped with the Dry Comfort feature, which uses advanced sensors to calculate and adjust the temperature of the heat exchanger, thereby moderating humidity levels. This enhanced dehumidification system reduces energy consumption by up to 30% compared to its predecessor.
The evolution of Samsung’s WindFree™ air conditioners began in 2016 with the introduction of the world’s first WindFree™ model. The technology rapidly lowered indoor temperatures using three powerful air outlets, dispersing cool air through thousands of micro air holes, avoiding the discomfort of direct cold airflow. The company has continuously refined this technology, with innovations such as the integration of AI technology in 2018 for automatic adjustment of cooling, dehumidification, and air purification.

By 2019, the second-generation WindFree™ was launched, featuring a minimalist design and improved cooling performance with a widened panel and over 270,000 micro air holes. The addition of Easy Care features in 2020 allowed for easier cleaning and maintenance, while the introduction of Warm Breeze in 2022 made the air conditioner suitable for year-round use, offering a gentle, warm air flow alongside air purification.
The third-generation WindFree™, launched in 2023, incorporated advanced 3D metal press technology for a sophisticated design and improved cooling. The model also integrated Bixby voice control for greater convenience. In 2024, further upgrades included expanded voice control capabilities and an increase in micro air holes for an even more efficient cooling experience.
The WindFree™ Combo 2025 model integrates AI-driven smart features that optimize climate control based on user patterns and environmental conditions. Additionally, the air conditioner now connects with the Galaxy Watch, activating a “Wearable Good Sleep” mode that adjusts the temperature when the user falls asleep and turns off when they wake up, enhancing personalised comfort and energy efficiency.
With continued advancements in technology, Samsung’s WindFree™ air conditioners remain at the forefront of the home climate control market, setting new standards for comfort, convenience, and energy efficiency.
