Samsung Electronics Singapore has unveiled the 990 EVO Plus SSD, designed to meet the needs of consumers seeking faster data processing, higher storage capacities, and improved power efficiency. The new SSD, which supports PCIe 4.0, is optimised for business, creative, and gaming applications.
The 990 EVO Plus boasts impressive performance improvements, offering sequential read speeds of up to 7,250MB/s and write speeds of 6,300MB/s, enhancing performance by up to 50% over its predecessor. It also features Samsung’s latest 8th generation V-NAND technology and a 5-nanometre controller for superior performance and efficiency.
To address growing storage demands, the 990 EVO Plus offers up to 4TB of capacity, with a 4TB model delivering industry-leading random read speeds of up to 1,050K IOPS and random write speeds of 1,400K IOPS, making it ideal for gaming and AI tasks. Additionally, the inclusion of a nickel-coated heat shield helps minimise overheating, improving power efficiency by 73%.
Samsung’s Magician software enhances the SSD’s functionality, allowing users to optimise performance, securely migrate data, and monitor SSD health.
The 990 EVO Plus is now available in Malaysia at Samsung Official Stores on Shopee and Lazada, and select electronics outlets. The 1TB model is priced at RM519, the 2TB at RM879, and the 4TB at RM1,599.
