Samsung Is Bringing Note10 Features To The S10 Lineup; What’s The Point Of The Note 10 Then?

Samsung Electronics has announced a fresh software update for the Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10+ that introduces Galaxy Note10 features to the flagship lineup. Now, users will be able to access new smart multimedia and Wi-Fi functions that streamline connections and content creation for the S10 series.

Here’s what’s new for the S10 lineup:

Multimedia experiences and Connectivity

Now you can search in the Gallery to find your favorite photos quickly by refining searches with keywords. That’s actually a pretty cool feature, and I wonder why they didn’t just include it on the S10 in the first place. You’ll also be able to fine songs, movies and TV shows with an improved device search, which consolidates content recommendations from multimedia streaming apps. They also added in Media & Devices in the Quick Panel, which lets you control multimedia across all your devices.

Besides the media portion, there’s also Auto Hotspot, which lets the S10 create a hotspot automatically with other Samsung devices, if they share the same Samsung account or family account.

Capture your vision

With the new update, you can now use the Note 10’s AR Doodle function. I mean, this makes the most sense considering it’s essentially an app, so why keep it available only for the Note 10 lineup. But I guess better late than never, right?

Most of the upcoming updates to the S10 just doesn’t really make sense on why it was omitted in the first place? Was it just because they wanted to give the Note 10 some sort of uniqueness amongst the rest of their devices? That’s probably one of their bigger selling points, these exclusive apps, so I don’t particularly blame them. But It’s exclusion from other devices just leaves a sort of bad taste in my mouth. At this point, I don’t really see a need to buy the Note 10, when the S10 is comparably cheaper, and arguably a better deal for many people out there. The S10 goes for RM 3299 while the Note 10 is for RM 3699. It’s not a huge price disparity, but personally, I’d prefer the S10’s form factor.
