Samsung has been working on something special, and now they’re expected to show it off. The ‘Artificial Huma’ project is set to be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) today. Samsung’s Neon has teased some ‘mysterious’ technology ahead of the keynote by Samsung Consumer Electronics Division CEO Hyun-Suk Kim. Reddit user saniska said they found unlisted videos of the project on the website’s source code.
Added to the fact that Neon project leader Pranav Mistry tweeted out that he was ready to demo Samsung’s Core R3 tech at CES.

While the leaks have been deleted, the pictures along with their promo videos show off how it works out. And to be honest, it’s pretty scary considering that these Artificial Humans look, and the way they move is very lifelike. Of course, the video had to have had some sort of editing, and CG, but still, it looks pretty legit to me.
With the tweet, he also goes on to say that the Core R3 tech “can now autonomously create new expressions, new movements, new dialog (even in Hindi), completely different from the original captured data.” Theoretically, this would mean they would be capable of making new faces to suit the situation, and learn more as it goes on.
Am I the only one who’s terrified?
Do you realize what this means? These artificial humans could just blend in to everyday life, with nothing to differentiate them. Every sci-fi movie you’ve seen over the past 40 years about robots ruling the world, now becomes a possibility.
Okay fine, maybe we’re not there yet. But one thing’s for sure, we’re fast approaching a time when it is a norm. Your Grab driver would be a artificial human, or the person at the Mcdonald’s counter. It’s just a matter of time.
