Rush to the Battlefield at the Free Fire Malaysia Cup with Prize Pool of US$50,000

Garena has announced the Free Fire Malaysia Cup 2021 (FFMC 2021), which will feature a US$50,000 prize pool. The FFMC tournament will also be the first Malaysian Only tournament held since the 2020 Free Fire Malaysia Open. Calling all Survivors from Malaysia, the FFMC 2021 will be open for registrations via the in-game Free
Fire Cup tab by 31 st May 2021, with the Grand Finals set for 31 st July 2021.

All players with an account level of at least 20 and gold rank will be eligible to register and participate in the FFMC 2021, with no registration fee required. To streamline registrations, players can sign-up for the tournament in-game via the Free Fire Cup tab from 31 st May 2021 onwards.

With the continuous fan support for Free Fire, FFMC will be bringing Survivors the biggest Free Fire tournament hosted in Malaysia, along with an esports experience that pushes the limits of mobile gaming through the intense and fierce competition throughout the Free Fire Malaysia Cup.

The FFMC 2021 consists of the Qualifiers stage, a 6-week League Stage, and Grand Finals.

Teams of 4 to 6 players will begin their journey through the tournament with the online qualifier, with registrations set to run between 31 st May to 3 rd June 2021. From there, players will form their teams and participate in the In-game qualifier tournament mode between 4th to 6 th June 2021, where the top 48 teams in the leaderboard will qualify and move on to the Qualifier Finals.

In the Qualifier Finals, the remaining 48 teams will be split into 4 groups, with each team playing within their groups in a best of 4 rounds. The top 18 teams from the Qualifier Finals will then move on to the League Circuit Stage.

League Stage
The 18 teams will be split into 3 groups of 6 teams – each group will then compete against each other across 8 match days, with the groups being reshuffled after day 4 of the matches. The League Circuit Stage will be held between 26 th June to 18 th July 2021 as teams fight to score points and win a spot on the Top 12 to qualify for the Grand Finals happening on 31 st of July.

Grand Finals
The Grand Finals will see teams battling over 6 rounds across all 3 maps, and the winning team – with points awarded based on round rankings and number of kills – will take home the lion’s share of the US$50,000 (or MYR200,000) prize pool. Over the tournament, with respect to social distancing initiatives, the League Circuit Stage and Grand Finals will be held online.
