Sony PlayStation 4 has been around for 5 years now since it was launched back in the year 2013. The PS4 underwent some mild hardware revisions as well as software updates and currently has 3 versions; the PS4, PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro. However, the tag name PS4 is starting to show its age and rumors has it that the successor is already in the works.
Apparently, TheRaidenPT from ResetEra found some insights regarding the PlayStation 5 through LinkedIn. The user went through the job listing section only to find that Sony has an open position for Senior Product Manager.
At PlayStation we are working at the frontiers of immersive experiences for our users. We are looking for an entrepreneurial Product Lead to join our Intelligence Platform Group. As part of this hands-on position you would work across Partners, Product and Engineering and contribute to development and growth of PlayStation Intelligence Platform.
This could possibly be a clue that the successor for the PS4 is coming. We can’t confirm the release date and the specifications of the new console yet since there aren’t any official statements from Sony. Some analysts predicted that the possible announcement of the PS5 could happen anytime around 2019 to 2021. Despite that, many claims that the announcement may happen in 2019.
