Research in Motion (RIM) has just announced that they will be offering a number of premium apps worth USD100 for free as a token of sincere apology to its users for the service disruption that happened a couple of weeks ago.
“Our global network supports the communications needs of more than 70 million customers,” said RIM Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis. “We truly appreciate and value our relationship with our customers. We’ve worked hard to earn their trust over the past 12 years, and we’re committed to providing the high standard of reliability they expect, today and in the future.”
Some of the apps that will be made free over the course of the next few weeks include:

• iSpeech Translator Pro – iSpeech.org
• Drive Safe.ly Enterprise – iSpeech.org
• Nobex Radio™ Premium – Nobex
• Shazam Encore – Shazam
• Vlingo Plus: Virtual Assistant – Vlingo
The company’s enterprise customers will be offered a month of free technical support from the company, and current customers will also be given an extension to their customer service contracts.
