While most of the performance seeking gamers would be looking to buy the high end GTX1080 or the GTX1070, the more budget concious gamers would likely feel that those cards are a bit too expensive. Hence a lot of gamers who are waiting for an affordable Pascal based graphic card were happy when NVIDIA announced the GTX 1060. Our version of the GTX 1060 comes courtesey of Gigabyte with the G1 Gaming.
Upgrades Galore
Compared to the stock GTX1060, Gigabyte has introduced a lot of updates and tweak. Gigabyte is using Windforce 2 dual fan cooling solution for better cooling performance. The large heatsink and heatpipe means that the fans will stop at a certain temprature threshold for a more quiet PC. Also to help with the cooling, a large black aluminium plate is installed at the back, which also helps prevent GPU sag.
Power and Speed
The Gigabyte GTX 1060 G1.Gaming accepts an 8 pin power connector and draws up to 225w of power altho it has a tdp of only around 140w. With this much power and cooling performance, Gigabyte has also bumped up the speed of the core to 1594MHz base speed and 1809MHz for boost. You can also use OC mode for more power, 1620(!)MHz base speed and 1847MHz for boost,
Point 1
Not only that the card has awesome looking specs, it’s also awesome looking in design too. With a black and red color scheme, it would look great in any PC casing. There is also an RGB LED at the side of the graphic card which you can set it’s colour and type of lighting animations using Gigabyte’s XTREME ENGINE software.
Point 2
While it might not be as powerful as the GTX 1080 or the GTX 1070, the Gigabyte GTX 1060 G1.Gaming is no slouch, especialy in games running at Full HD 1080p. We manage to get good framerates at high/ultra settings in games, even newer ones. The 6GB GDDR5 VRAM also helps if you want to use this card for Virtual Reality (VR) gaming. In short, this card is powerful yet affordable.
