Simple Low Profile Design
The BenQ ZOWIE FK2 is definitely a good looking gaming mouse. It is a mouse that’s minimalistic and low profile for sure. There’s no flashy RGB lights or accentuated designs on this. In fact, it does look more like your standard black office mouse than something from a premium gaming line up. It’s a positive if you’re into the simple design, especially if you find pulsating RGB lights on your peripherals distracting.
Portable and Driverless
One feature that stands out is that it’s driverless. A premium gaming mouse without the need for a third-party software is uncommon to say the least. It’s a positive if you’re turning pro or playing at tournaments and will use many PCs that aren’t customised for you. This lets you skip that first half hour of setting up your gear every tournament. The cable isn’t braided but is of good quality rubber, making it easy to wrap and transport.
Optimised for FPS Games
The ZOWIE FK2 comes with two buttons on each side, with only two working at a time depending on whether you’re right or left handed. The lack of a driver means you can’t rebind it during normal use however. As for actual gaming, it’s amazing. Solid performance, durable despite heavy use and feels great in your hand. Sadly, there’s no on-the-fly DPI switcher as the DPI switch is underneath, but if you can look beyond that, it’s a great mouse for FPS games.
Verdict: A good gaming mouse overall especially if you like your peripherals minimalistic without the fancy lights and designs.
