Renew Passport, IC, License And Other Services After Office Hours

Trouble updating your passport, renewing your car license, or planing to register a new company after being inspired over the long lockdown but only to be disappointed over the long queues at the government and the limited opening time? No worries, the Prime Minister has instructed his agencies to work overtime to catch up with all the pent up demands for such services.

Effective, July 1 all Urban Transformation Centre’s (UTC) will be opened until 9pm in order to cater for the peoples needs in getting their essential services offered by the government completed. This comes after many complaints were hurled at the administration for shutting their counters too early and the backlog it has been accumulating over the MCO period. Malaysians were unable to conduct any transaction or application during the 2 months period and further endured slow response during the CMCO from these over the counter services.

With the latest move, services offered by UTC which includes, Immigration services, registration like IC, marriage and death certificates can all be done at these centres. People wish to address the income tax and PTPTN can also have their request manages at these counters. Other services include, SSM or company registration, SPAD, JPJ and Takaful related. Note the location of these centres before making trip, while there are certain processes that can be conducted over the internet there are still certain application requiring physical presence, so avoid going to the centre unless there is no other option.

Location of the UTC spread across the country, in Klang Valley they are situated in Pudu Sentral KL, mini UTC in Sentul and Keramat. They are also available in Melaka, Johor, Pahang, Kedah, Kelantan, Sabah, Sarawak and Terengganu. New operation hours will be 8am -9pm (Monday-Thursday), 2:45pm – 10pm (Friday) and 8am -5pm (Saturday and Sunday).
