realme India CEO, Madhav Sheth, has revealed in an interview that realme is working on a 100MP smartphone. He didn’t really say much else about the device, so that’s pretty much the only thing we know about it.
realme has been a part of the conversation when you’re talking about smartphones for a while now. And especially this year, when they’ve come out with some pretty great specced devices for a budget price. But now it seems they’ll be taking a step in Xiaomi’s direction and bringing a smartphone with a 100MP camera. This confirmation from realme is pretty indicative of where the smartphone industry is heading towards.
A 100MP camera norm.
That’s not a bad thing at all, but something to keep in mind is that more megapixels ≠ better pictures. At this point it’s more towards software optimisation, and image compression from social media sites that cause a loss in image quality. Until and unless those factors are looked into, we’re still not going to get the perfect pictures we’re looking for.
They’ll look good, but they could’ve looked so much better.
