The entry-level smartphone space in Malaysia just got more interesting. realme has officially launched the realme Note 80, a new budget device priced at RM399 that focuses on durability, long battery life and practical features for everyday users.
Unveiled in Kuala Lumpur, the smartphone is designed for people who rely heavily on their devices throughout the day, from gig workers navigating the city to young users buying their first smartphone. Instead of chasing flashy specifications, the Note 80 leans into something more practical: toughness and endurance.
One of its headline features is ArmorShell Protection, which gives the phone military-grade durability under the MIL-STD-810H certification. The phone’s structure has reinforced corners, internal foam cushioning to protect components and strengthened glass to handle everyday accidents.
According to realme, the device offers 300% stronger bend resistance and can survive drops of up to 1.8 metres, while IP54 dust and water resistance protects it from splashes and humid weather conditions often experienced in Malaysia.
Battery life is another area where the Note 80 aims to stand out. The device packs a 6,300mAh battery, offering up to 740 hours of standby, 108 hours of music playback, 15 hours of YouTube streaming, 19 hours on WhatsApp and seven hours of gaming on a single charge. It also supports 15W fast charging and reverse charging, allowing users to power other devices when needed.
Powering the smartphone is an octa-core T7250 chipset built on a 12nm process, paired with up to 18GB dynamic RAM and 256GB of storage. The device runs on Android 15 with realme UI, which includes NEXT AI features designed to optimise battery use, performance and everyday tasks.
On the design side, the Note 80 keeps things sleek despite the large battery. At 7.94mm thick and weighing 197g, it comes in two colours: Glacier Blue and Storm Black. The phone also features a 6.74-inch 90Hz Eye Comfort Display with DC-dimming to reduce eye strain during long hours of use.
The realme Note 80 is now available nationwide through official realme stores, authorised dealers and online platforms including Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop.
