Ahead of its 1 November 2017 launch that has been making rounds on the Internet, the leaks of Razer’s soon-to-arrive smartphone have appeared as well. Although a new player in the already saturated smartphone market, Razer is showing its prowess at being able to compete with the best, if the specs are anything to go by.
Through Phone Radar and GFXBench, the gamer-centric Razer smartphone will carry a 5.7-inch display with 2650×1440 resolution. It will also feature a Snapdragon 835 SoC and 64GB of internal storage. Although it may seem like your everyday flagship, one core element of the Razer smartphone that will turn heads is its 8GB of RAM.
As it is Razer’s way, the smartphone comes with an Adreno 540 GPU that will support DirectX 12 and Vulkan APIs. This will give the smartphone an edge when it comes to handling graphic-intensive 3D games as well as multitasking with its high memory count. The smartphone will also be utilising the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with a customised UI.
The rear camera will be an 11-megapixel with the ability to shoot in 4K while its front-facing camera will carry 7-megapixels. Another interesting takeaway is its SIM card utility; the Razer smartphone only comes with one slot instead of the more common dual SIM capability with the option to fit an external microSD.
Sadly, there aren’t any visual leaks of the smartphone yet. The closest we have seen to a leak is this picture of CEO Min-Liang Tan alongside Razer SVP Tom Moss.
