Everyone who has ever seen a decent movie in the cinemas is by now familiar with THX. And if not, here’s a brief introduction to the company. They were conceived by George Lucas in 1983 and became the first company to standardise cinema audio quality across the board. Well, it seems as if THX is being bought over by gaming peripherals giant, Razer.
But far from acquiring the brand just to sell more headphones and audio products, Razer aims to increase the company’s global penetration rate. In particular, they hope to use their influence and reach to get THX into Chinese cinemas.
But of course, we wouldn’t be surprised if Razer eventually does start including THX certified audio software and hardware too.
