Qualcomm And Samsung Unveil Snapdragon 8 Elite Platform For Galaxy S25 Series

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc has announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, customised in collaboration with Samsung to power the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra globally. The new platform features the second-generation custom Qualcomm Oryon CPU, Qualcomm Adreno GPU, and Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, delivering what Qualcomm claims to be the world’s fastest mobile system-on-a-chip.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite platform is designed to enhance on-device AI capabilities, offering features such as Snapdragon Satellite, enabling native messaging via satellite, and premium 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity through the Snapdragon X80 5G Modem-RF System and Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Mobile Connectivity System.

Qualcomm and Samsung have also integrated the Spatio-Temporal Filter (STF) into the Qualcomm Spectra ISP, promising sharper low-light video capture, including 8K 30fps recording, while maintaining power efficiency. The Snapdragon platform will also support Samsung’s Gemini experiences, including advanced AI applications like Gemini Live and writing assistants, ensuring seamless multitasking and performance.

Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile handsets at Qualcomm Technologies, described the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy as a “significant leap forward in mobile technology” and highlighted the partnership with Samsung as key to setting new benchmarks in mobile innovation.

O H Kwon, senior vice president and president of Qualcomm APAC, noted that the collaboration has redefined user experiences by integrating advanced AI and connectivity features, while Samsung Mobile’s VP, Inkang Song, stated that the platform elevates the Galaxy S25 series with superior capabilities across gaming, camera, and connectivity.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy sets the stage for Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series to deliver what both companies tout as a truly premium and transformative mobile experience.
