Putrajaya the Government office capital is going cashless through the mooted initiative by Perbadanan Putrajaya  and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission with the launch of “Putrajaya Mobile Application” and “Putrajaya Cashless Transaction City Application”

In line with the nations digitalisation program and Bank Negara’s call for the dependency of paper money, the new app created by PrimeKeeper a digital wallet application provider will offer the new service to Putrajaya residents. The app aims to promote the wide-scale adoption of a cashless digital lifestyle in then precinct and to encourage the usage both PPj and MCMC is currently giving away digital vouchers worth RM20 to users who downloaded the app. The digital vouchers can be redeemed at any of PrimeKeeper’s participating merchants/outlets. Precinct 9 Food Court is the first food court in Putrajaya offering cashless transactions at all stalls.

The Putrajaya Mobile app on the other hand is designed to allow tourists and residents to access up-to-date information about the city. The app provides information on the locations of tourist attractions, public amenities including disabled facilities, parking facilities and information on events in the vicinity. It is also built with ‘panic button’ function that allows users to send emergency messages to local police departments and the PPj.
