Higher item spawn rate on Erangel and improved UI in menus among list of changes
It’s been two years since PUBG was released to the public, and boy what a ride it’s been. PUBG pretty much brought the battle royale format to the mainstream gaming community and consequently changed the landscape of gaming. It seems like just yesterday that the game was still in beta.
To commemorate their second anniversary, PUBG corp is giving away a free in game item in the form of a 2-year anniversary cap. The cap is redeemable from the 27th of March up till the 4th of April for PC users and the 9th of April to the 7th of March for console gamers. That’s not all! PUBG’s latest update, update #27, is hitting servers this week!
Update #27 brings with it a bunch of new stuff such as the brand new Survivor Pass 3: Wild Card, a new weapon, more loot on Erangel, bug fixes, game play updates and the aforementioned 2-year anniversary cap among other things.
Survivor Pass 3: Wild Card
According to PUBG Corp., Survivor Pass 3: Wild Card will include over 60 rewards which can be obtained within the 10 week pass duration. The new pass will include improved missions which will test players skills, an in-game feature which will provide tracking of missions in real-time and even new background music and lobby.
New weapon
The new update will also feature a new weapon in the form of an MP5K. The sub machine gun is chambered for 9mm ammunition and can be found exclusively on Vikendi, replacing the Vector on that map. “While the gun is similar to the vector, it boasts a higher per bullet damage, but with a lower overall firing rate and DPS. This SMG also has a higher magazine capacity than the Vector, starting at 30 rounds by default with 40 rounds in an extended magazine.” PUBG Corp.’s announcement said.
This update is the first one since the month long fix PUBG campaign concluded in November. With a slew of new bug fixes and gameplay updates, this update promises to make PUBG more balanced, especially when it comes to matchmaking.
