Not too long after recovering from what could have possibly been one of the biggest hack attacks in recent history, Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) has been compromised again with news stating that 93,000 PSN user accounts have been hacked.

According to Philip Reitinger, Sony’s Chief Information Security Officer, about 66,000 PSN and SEN (Sony Entertainment Network) and 33,000 SOE (Sony Online Entertainment) accounts were hacked into. While the accounts themselves are being compromised, credit card information still remain intact as that particular information is secured under different layers of encryptions.

As a security measure, Sony has sent e-mails to the addresses that are associated to the PSN and SEN accounts asking them to reset their passwords again. The affected SOE accounts meanwhile have to validate their account credentials to have them turned back on again.
