Sony Playstation has announced that October was one of the best Octobers for their console. According to an industry-tracking firm in the States knows as the NPD Group, Playstation has outperformed the XBox One and Nintendo Switch.
This comes after the Playstation 4 saw a year-over-year growth. According to one NPD analyst and trusted source of gaming industry intel, Mat Piscatella, “PlayStation 4 hardware unit sales achieved an all-time October high for the platform, and while PlayStation 4 hardware dollar sales reached its highest point for an October month since October 2014.”
The PS4 and Xbox One were launched five year ago and since the he typical console life is 5 to 7 years which means that users can expect to see the end of the life of the 2 consoles. The next PlayStation is expected to be based on the X86 architecture, similar to the PS4 making development of games for the console easy.
The PS2 is widely considered the best selling console in history selling more than 150 million units. Sony’s current heavy weight, the PlayStation 4 has crossed the 80 million units mark.
