Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB) launched an e-payment solution, Setel and its the first in Southeast Asia. Setel is designed to be integrated to fuel pumps directly, enabling customers to pay for their fuel within a few clicks directly from inside the car.
“Pumping fuel shouldn’t be a chore. Currently, the payment process involves walking to cashier, waiting in line, a RM200-hold on your cards, and having to use a separate card to earn loyalty points. Setel eradicates these pain points and integrates payment and loyalty benefits in a seamless, frictionless experience. At Setel, we settle for you! Since our beta-launch in July 2018, we have received many positive responses and feedback from over 10,000 users in our current pool. We also received overwhelming response from visitors at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2018 held last week,” said Iskandar Ezzahuddin, Head of Setel.
Setel is part of PDB’s initiatives to engage the start-up communities in co-creating innovative solutions to enhance customer experience. The mobile app provides a seamless end-to-end experience focusing on providing convenient and ease for fuel purchases. It can be used at more than 40 stations in Klang Valley and PDB will expand to 600 sites by June 2019 and nationwide by end of 2019.
The app is available for download on both Android and iOS platforms via Google Play and App Store. Customers can also purchase items at Mesra using the app beginning January 2019.
