The tourism sector in Perak made a huge haul in room bookings when things started easing up post Covid-19, the state has 7736 orders since June 10 when the RMCO took effect.

Surprisingly people have started to come back to our state, there are many lovely spots in Perak and nice to see this sort of response, however SOP’s will still need to be adhered to at all the tourist places said Datuk Nolee Ashilin Perak’s Chairnan of Housing and Tourism. The opening of all attractions including water theme parks was a boon for the state, its ideal location between Penang and Kuala Lumpur, makes it a suitable destination for those looking to break their journey.

Its scenic landscape and limestone hills draws passerby’s who take the North South highway, not to mention iconic towns with their own charm doting the route. Many folks in KL or Selangor have their roots in Perak, its either in Ipoh, Taiping or Alor Gajah, so going back for a weekend holiday after a stressful week at work is common. Covid-19 has forced Malaysians to look within for a vacation, Ipoh was always an easy destination for a short trip, its hip, the food is great and offers some great staycation options. The former tin mine city, draws thousands of tourist on any regular day, having since shut down for MCO, the city has reinvented itself adding special deals for locals to visit.

So why did Perak score big, its the nearest retreat with mountains, rivers, island and a bustling hipster city life, food is amazing, some of the best cuisines can be found here.
