In managing social distancing and ensuring passenger safety, public transportation system has been having a hard time figuring out a workable number. Rapid Transit Bus (BRT) plying Sunway city which offers customers the connection to nearby LRT and KTM station will reduce passenger allowance by 70%.
Operator of the service, Prasarana Malaysia issued a release on the current SOP it will be taking to reduce the risk of Covid 19 spread. Its Chairman, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Ramli stated all 15 of its electric buses are also subjected to stringent SOP ensuring cleanliness and proper management.
The fully electric bus transport system was the first of its kind in the country which operates on an elevated platform linking Sunway residents, Sunway Pyramid Mall, Monash University and Sunway University to major transport hubs. With the reduction of passengers from 67 to 20, many students and mall goers who depend on the BRT will be looking at alternative mode, giving rise to more vehicles in the already congested lanes.
