Paladins, the game many called an Overwatch clone – despite having it’s own flair and mechanics if I may add – is reaching a new milestone. It’s developers, Hirez Studios are officially launching Paladins out of beta on May 8! As Paladins exits beta, Hirez are also celebrating it with players, with the Paladins Launch Celebration.

The Paladins Launch Celebration kicks off today for two weeks. There’s a bunch of in-game events and one massive giveaway too: everyone who played Paladins beta gets 200 Crystals, free. That’s almost $100 million in crystals as there’s over 25 million players Paladins players! There’s also a special Beta avatar for players too. All you have to do to claim your free goodies is to just log into the game from May 8-31 and hit ‘claim’.
If you have yet to start playing Paladins, well what are you waiting for? There’s no better time to start playing! Hirez are unlocking all Champions til May 7, so test the whole roster and learn your new main! You’ll also be eligible for the Crystal giveaway as long as you start playing by then.

There’s more celebrations in store too, including a day-long stream on launch day! Hang out and play with your favorite Hi-Rez developers such as HirezAlyssa. As Paladins exits beta, the party continues with contests, broadcasts, giveaways, videos, in-game events, and more!
Perhaps most noteworthy is Hirez realising the mistakes they’ve made in the past; the Cards Unbound pay-to-win fiasco still haunts players everywhere. They promise to keep updating and refining the game and crucially, will make no more major changes in game mechanics.
HirezChris, the lead developer of Paladins, says, “We are planning no more major system changes. We’ve found a formula that works for everyone: Free cards and sweet cosmetics. If you’ve been afraid to get really invested into Paladins because we might change things again, don’t worry; this launch is our commitment to this vision for Paladins future.”
As someone who picked up Paladins the month it went into Open Beta, I have to say, it’s been a long journey. I’ve gone through almost 40 different iterations of the game. Even though work and Overwatch have taken up most of my time recently, I’m definitely happy to see Paladins finally hitting v1.0.
