Overwatch’s new hamster hero Wrecking Ball has just launched. To commemorate, Blizzard is hosting a free PC weekend, which you can get into starting today.

Blizzard has confirmed that its free PC weekend runs from 26th to 30th July. For Asia, specifically, this begins from 27th July, 2am (Malaysia time) until 31st July, 3pm. Players will gain access to all 28 heroes, all 18 maps, and various gameplay modes.
Of course, you’ll also be able to use this chance to try out the mecha-driving hamster, Wrecking Ball. In case you didn’t know, Wrecking Ball is a new Defense hero that protects the team from damage, but with a unique twist. He has an entirely new way of interacting with players and the environment using the following movesets:
- Quad Cannons: Wrecking Ball fires machine guns
- Adaptive Shield: Grants Wrecking Ball a number of temporary shields based on the number of enemies nearby
- Roll: Wrecking Ball transforms into a sphere with increased speed
- Grappling Claw: While in Roll mode, Wrecking Ball can launch a short grappling hook to attach to surfaces, swing around, clear gaps, and move upwards. Using this ability allows Wrecking Ball to gain momentum, dealing damage and knocking back enemies upon impact
- Piledriver: Wrecking Ball slams down from the air, pulling enemies towards the center of impact and dealing damage
- Minefield (Ultimate): Wrecking Ball litters the ground around him with damage-dealing proximity mines
To start playing, you’ll need a Blizzard account so that you can download Overwatch through Battle.net. If you purchase the game afterwards, your stats and progress will carry over to the full game, with the exception of achievements.
As you’re downloading the game, you can learn more about this little furball of destruction here.
