Overwatch was a game I spent a lot of time on when it first came out. I played religiously, and on two separate platforms. I had friends on PC, but I also played on my PS4 when I preferred a more casual game. Overwatch was unique in the sense that it incorporated MOBA and FPS mechanics into one, and that’s what made it successful. Now I don’t get on anymore, because frankly I’m not as good as I used to be. Overwatch is a game that caused a lot of gamer rage, especially for me.
But now Blizzard Entertainment is releasing their newest hero to the game. Baptiste will be the 30th hero added to the roster of Blizzard’s First person shooter. Baptiste is touted as an elite combat medic with an arsenal of experimental healing devices. Check out the his skills and weapon in the table below!
Baptiste’s three-round-burst Biotic Launcher rewards accuracy and recoil control with significant damage output. It also doubles as a healing device, lobbing projectiles that heal allies near the point of impact.
Baptiste activates an intense regenerative burst that heals himself and nearby allies over time.
Baptiste uses a device to create a field that prevents allies from dying. The generator can be destroyed.
|Amplification Matrix (Ultimate)
Baptiste creates a matrix that doubles the damage and healing effects of friendly projectiles that pass through it.
|Exo Boots (Passive)
By first crouching, Baptiste can jump higher.
Personally I feel like this is a welcome addition to the Healer class in Overwatch. Some healers are too weak but Baptiste seems to be more suited to players who prefer fighting, but the team needs a support. Baptiste is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
