OPPO have officially launched their latest flagships devices, the Find X2 5G series. The Find X2 5G series is also one of the first smartphones to release, which features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. Essentially meaning, they’re capable connecting to 5G networks, besides the performance boost.
Display
Both the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro come with a 6.78″ QHD+ (1,440 x 3,168 pixels) AMOLED display, capable of a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz sampling rate. The screen has a pixel density of 513ppi, contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 and a maximum brightness of 800nit.
Another feature of the Find X2 series is their conversion capabilities, as they’re capable of converting SD or normal video content into HDR-like content. There’s also another feature, Motion Clear, which essentially is a video enhancement technology that is capable of increasing the frame rate of videos below 30 fps to 60 or even 120 fps. Which overall means, a better, smoother video experience.
Camera
Here’s where the main differences between the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro come into play; the cameras. They both feature a triple camera setup, but what those setups consist of is the differentiator. The Find X2 comes with a primary 48MP wide angle camera, 13MP periscope telephoto lens, and 12MP ultra-wide angle camera. There’s also an emphasis on dark mode, as OPPO have introduced a new low-light camera algorithm, dubbed Night Mode 3.0 which is included in their new Ultra Dark Mode.
The Find X2 Pro on the other hand comes with a 48MP main camera, 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and 13MP Periscope telephoto lens. The 48MP main camera is actually a customised Sony IMX689 sensor, so that’s cool. With the combination of the periscope telephoto cameras optical and electronic stabilisation making it capable of a 10x hybrid zoom, and 60x digital zoom. But you know how I feel about zooms past 10x, anyway.
Both devices feature a 32MP front facing AI cameras to get that enhanced selfie look on your Instagram page.
Performance
In terms of performance, both devices come with a super quick 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charging tech, which allows for a full charge in 38 minutes. Or so they claim anyway, but based on our previous testing of SuperVOOC charging, I’m believing them. The Find X2 5G comes with a 4,200mAh battery, while the Find X2 Pro 5G comes with a 4,260mAh battery, so just a bit bigger than the base model.
Other than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, they both also come with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. For gaming, the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform is supplemented by the new Adreno 650 GPU, which comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming to support ‘desktop level performance’ on mobile games. Which I’m skeptical about, but I’ll save my scepticism until I get the device in hand.
