OnePlus Goes After Google; Makes Fun Of Pixel 4, Then Deletes It?

Finally, some more drama amongst the tech Giants. If you guys haven’t heard, it’s been reported that the new Google Pixel lineup, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are basically throttling their 90Hz refresh rate. This happens when the Pixel 4 devices go above 75% brightness, and it reduces the refresh rate back to 60Hz. Admittedly, this is probably to compensate for the pretty lackluster battery on the devices, but to me it’s kind of like marketing your product unfairly. Think about it this way, how often do you have your brightness up to 75% or above? Quite often? Then yeah, it’s a problem.

And OnePlus, decidedly brave af, decided to call them out with the tweet above. This is because they have at three devices capable of running 90Hz refresh rates, the OnePlus 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro.

Fair enough OnePlus. But the caveat to this debacle, is that they later deleted the tweet. Probably a smart move not to anger the hand that feeds you your operating system, otherwise you’ll end up like Huawei.

But that’s pretty much it. Just a little interaction, and the seemingly small man taking a shot at the big boy on top. Nice to see, but sad to note that they didn’t stick to their guns. As fast as you can delete something on Twitter, what goes on the internet, stays on the internet. Nice try OnePlus, nice try.
