OnePlus, the self-proclaimed flagship killer phone maker, has had a head-on clash with Apple, the world’s biggest phone manufacturer. Earlier, OnePlus announced their launching of the OnePlus 6T, the successor to the OnePlus 6, on 30th October. In a shock move, Apple then announced that they will also be holding their launching of new iPads and Macs on that very same day.
In an announcement on their forum, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau posted “A lot has changed in the past 24 hours. When we announced the launch of the OnePlus 6T on October 8, we were convinced our timing would allow us to maximize the amount of people we could reach with our message. That changed when Apple announced they would be hosting their own event on October 30. We know the entire industry and all media will be holding their breath. So, imagine how we felt when we learned the date of their latest event. One minute, we were preparing for our greatest and most exciting launch event yet. The next, we were posed with a difficult question: “What do we do now?”
He goes on to describe the difficult decision they had to make to bring forward the launch a day earlier. Being a ticketed event, OnePlus has stepped up and offered to pay for any flight changes and room bookings that need to be moved because of the sudden change.
The OnePlus 6T is rumoured to have a smaller notch and a full screen of 6inches or more.
