The remote benefit concert One World: Together At Home is coming up this Saturday as a way to show support for healthcare workers worldwide as they face the Covid-19 pandemic. This concert is already broadcast to television channels as well as streaming service, and tech platforms. But now, a new challenger appears and it is none other than popular virtual multiplayer game Roblox.
The concert will feature a bunch of celebrities and musical performances, and will be co-hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Stephen Colbert. Organised by the international advocacy group, Global Citizen, in support of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and their Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund. The Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund is helping to finance relief efforts worldwide by providing healthcare workers with medical equipment, protective gear, and other measures to fight the coronavirus.
One World in itself though, isn’t a fund raiser, but is to help raise awareness and celebrate healthcare workers through entertainment. But with the amount of celebrities and companies, like Apple, supporting the cause, there’s bound to be donations and indirectly help fund the good fight against coronavirus.
