Olympus OM-D E-M1X Micro Four Thirds Arrives This February

Olympus OM-D E-M1X, scheduled to go on sale on February 22, 2019. This compact, lightweight interchangeable lens camera achieves high-quality images while conforming to the Micro Four Thirds System standard. This new professional model incorporates an integrated vertical grip, providing secure holding and high operability, and offers the world’s highest image stabilization performance
approximately 7.5 shutter speed steps of compensation, fulfilling the split second photo taking opportunity.

Some of the key features include, the new Integrated vertical grip for secure holding on easier operability, comfortable AF system with the AF multi selector and All-cross-type On-chip Phase Detection AF sensor, Pro Capture mode 2 and 60 fps high-speed sequential shooting and the touted world’s highest image stabilization performance. Like its brethren the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, the OM-D has the enhanced compensation abilities to deliver improved handheld image quality during nighttime shooting and for indoor scenes and pairing with the selection of M.Zuiko lens lineup, including fisheye, super wide-angle, super-telephoto, and macro lenses, this compact, lightweight camera system comes to life.

A new C-LOCK lever is included for locking the controls in the vertical position and locking selected controls only. The viewfinder features a new optical design with the viewfinder magnification of 0.83×4. (35mm equivalent). The four-element configuration with aspherical lenses and lenses with a high reflective index enable clear, distortion-free display right up to the edge of the viewfinder. Just as on the OM-D E-M1 Mark II, a 120 fps (progressive system) high-speed frame rate and 0.005 second display time lag is in place in the system. .

Over and above the OM-D E-M1X is splashproof rated at IPX1, and has gone through rigorous tests in various condition including at -10°C.  A new coating is used on the SSWF (Super Sonic Wave Filter), which vibrates at 30,000 times per second to remove dust and dirt, reducing the possibility of dust or dirt by 10% more compared to previous models.
