Northern Peninsular Suffered From Temporary Disruptions On Streamyx and unifi Due To Vandalism

Internet disruptions is always the torture for the users regardless of how long the technical problems set. Many errands and transactions could be delayed which will be causing more inconvenience. Unfortunately, such an occasion happens to unifi and Streamyx users of the Northern Peninsular Malaysia.

Yesterday, unifi and Streamyx users in the Northern region of Peninsular Malaysia including Perlis, Kedah, Penang, and Perak have reported slow connection on their unifi and Streamyx service since the early evening.

The disruptions took off around 8:00 pm and the reports of fibre cut incident in Perak (which have not yet been confirmed at that time) struck their way through social media.

One of the reports came with a WhatsApp screenshot, claiming that the service disruptions in the Northern region were caused by a fibre cut incident in Tanjung Malim, Perak.

Another report seems to be an internal report and stated that the fibre cut incident happened around 38km from Sitiawan node due to vandalism and also said that the links between Tanjung Malim and Tapah were having the same problem.

TM has come up with an announcement at 11:00 pm. which confirmed the reports earlier. The issue is then fully restored in stages from midnight.

Vandalism is very bad for society because as you can see, it affects everyone. This selfish delinquency must be taken very seriously before it causes another major unwanted issue. Credits have to be given to TM for taking fast response to solve the issue.
