The Nintendo Direct presentation earlier today didn’t waste any time, lasting slightly over half-an-hour but jammed pack with updates and releases. This year’s Nintendo Direct presentation features a healthy blend of upcoming Nintendo Switch games as well as titles for the Nintendo 3DS. This comes after the Nintendo Direct Mini presentation that took place earlier this year.

Super Smash Bros.
A game that many have been crying out for ever since the Switch was first released a little over a year ago, Super Smash Bros. is finally coming to the Switch sometime in 2018. One of the first characters that will be part of the Super Smash Bros. lineup will be one of the Splatoon’s Inklings.
Mario Tennis Aces
Slated to release on 22 June 2018, Mario Tennis Aces will be the first Mario sports title to feature a story mode since Mario Tennis: Pro Tour back in 2005. There will be more than 15 playable games on Mario Tennis Aces and it can support up to four players in a local and online setting. Nintendo will also host special online tournaments and events, with special rewards being given like bonus characters and outfits.
Octopath Traveler
The latest title to come out from Square Enix is Octopath Traveler, an eight-character “2D-HD” adventure role-playing game (RPG). The game is said to be releasing on 13 July 2018.
Aside from these two new titles that will be coming to the Switch, there are also a host of games that will be ported over.
Okami HD
Seeing as its already available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, Okami HD will soon be available on the Switch as well. This is all thanks to the guys over at Capcom, who will be remastering the Clover Studios’classic adventure game.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was originally launched on the WiiU, and it looks like it will soon be available on the Switch as well. Slated for a 13 July 2018 launch, this new version will feature new miniature courses, which will be based on various Kingdoms in the Super Mario Odyssey game.
Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy
The Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy is back and this time it will be coming to the Switch. Originally for the PlayStation 4, everyone’s favourite bandicoot will soon be on your Switch screens as well. This also includes remastered versions of the first three Crash Bandicoot games It is confirmed to be releasing on 10 July 2018.
South Park: The Fractured but Whole
Another popular title that has been making waves on the PlayStation 4 is none other than South Park: The Fractured but Whole. A direct sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth, this late 2017 title release will feature more classic South Park-style jokes and humour while you learn more about spells and incantations in an RPG.
Dark Souls Remastered
While already talked about during the Nintendo Direct Mini presentation in January 2018, a quick update on Dark Souls Remastered is that it will now be releasing alongside an amiibo. With the help of near-field communication (NFC), an amiibo is Nintendo’s way providing gamers with a wireless communication and storage option through toys-to-life figurines. The figurine in question for Dark Souls Remastered is none other than Solaire of Astora.
Of course, the Nintendo 3DS was not left out as there were also plenty of new games on the way!
Detective Pikachu
Just when you thought Pikachu was all cute and loveable, it is now a detective that can actually talk and solve crimes. That’s right, Detective Pikachu will soon be available on the 3DS with a 23 March 2018 launch date. It will also come with a big amiibo as well.
Luigi’s Mansion
This popular GameCube title will now be coming to the 3DS. A complete remake, Luigi’s Mansion is almost two decades old but still remains as one of the more popular titles to date. This also puts Luigi in the spotlight once more as he’s always being shunned to the side by Mario.
