Nice To Have But The Porsche Design Notebook Isnt Cheap!

During Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year, they were many obvious absentees and also new vendors, this made up of otherwise what would have been just another communication fair in Europe. While the biggest announcement centred around 5G and Huawei launching the P10, there was a buzz at the booth occcupied by Porsche Design, the sportcar brand that has its mark from sneakers to ballpoint pen.

No stranger is collaborating with technology products, visitors at the fair were showcased for the first time the Porsche Design BOOK ONE  a purpose built 2 in 1 that runs on Windows 10 Pro. A clear indication Microsoft push for more Windows powered devices, the Book One uses high precision multi gesture control interface for the touch display and the touchpad which can further be supported with the use of a digital stylus. Porsche Design is known for their stylish appeal and the Book One does not fail in its first attempt, Surface Book will be the insipiration for the design but here the funtions are enhanced.

Using a milled aluminum housing with a matte anodized surface finish, the device is built to be robust and has a hinge that allows the tablet unit of the 2-in-1 to not only be detached, but also rotated 360 degrees.  The 13.3″ display has a resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels with QHD+ IPS display and has a 5MP camera fitted.

Pricing and Availability: The 2-in-1 will be available in Germany from April 2017 for an RRP of €2,795, in the US for $2,495 (approx. RM 11,250) from Porsche Design Stores and specialist retailers in other countries.
