unifi, the convergence brand under Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), continues its #khabarbaik movement by bringing the latest unifi 300Mbps plan. The plan is bundled with Media Box, unifi TV Ultimate Pack and Video On Demand (VOD) movie vouchers every month to its residential customers – both new and existing.

“Since the debut of our #khabarbaik movement, we have shared multiple good news centring on improving our customer experience from our 24-hour unifi service installation to extending the operations of selected TMpoint outlets to 7 days a week. This new unifi 300Mbps plan™ comes with Media Box and FREE HyppFlicks Plus movie vouchers for four (4) movies each month – another #khabarbaik for customers with heavy content consumption such as movie buffs and gamers.

Further the plan not only delivers faster internet speeds, but also premium content offering through top-rated international channels such as the FOX bundle from the US, BBC’s channels suite, entertainment and movie channels from Korea as well as kids channels such as CBeebies, Nickelodeon, Dreamworks and many more.” said Moharmustaqeem Mohammed, Acting Executive Vice President, unifi.

The unifi 300Mbps plan offers a  package inclusive of Media Box, unifi TV’s Ultimate Pack with free movie vouchers which offer 100 free Blockbuster movies in HD quality, accessible through Media Box and PlayTV@unifi app (up to 2 devices). It also comes with free 600 minutes talk time to all mobile and fixed lines nationwide for only RM199/month.

While all this sounds fine and dandy, I’m sceptical about how far its reach actually will be. There are still users in Malaysia that haven’t received the Turbo upgrade, like myself. Living in an apartment, you’ll have to check whether you are eligible for an upgrade, because your wiring in the building matters. If it’s not up to date, you’re lucky to get 50 Mbps.
