Music lovers better get ready to save up some cash as Sony announced their latest Wireless Headphones during the livestream event yesterday.

Loved by fans and audiophiles alike, the new Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Headphones has made its way to our shores this month onwards for the price of RM1599 in Black and Platinum Silver.

It’s been two years since Sony released the WH-1000XM3 noise-canceling headphones (2018). The predecessor is still frequently top lists for the best noise-canceling headphones you can buy. If you’re wondering what are the new upgrades for this new release, then here’s what you need to know.

Noise Cancellation

Making its return, the Active Noise Cancellation on the headphones have been improved thanks to the Dual Noise Sensor technology, there’s also a new Bluetooth Audio SoC that senses and adjusts the music and noise at over 700 times per second and according to Sony, this means it reduces frequency sounds from high and mid-range.

Real-Time Music Analysing

Sony has also built in an Edge-AI, DSEE Extreme feature which analyses music in real time. What this means is that it “rebuilds” the instruments from different music genres with high-range sounds that get lost in a compressed media file. 360 Reality Audio is also featured inside and as an Adaptive Sound Control which allows the headphones to detect and adjust the ambient sound. Most of the feature sound settings on the Sony Headphones Connect App can be controlled to your preference.

Pauses Your Audio When You Take Them Off

The Wearing Detection feature is one of the most requested features from users because don’t you hate it when you have to manually pause your music on your device and then take off your headphones? Well the new Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Headphones can detect if you’re wearing them or not. By putting the WH-1000XM4 wireless headphones down, it will automatically pause the song for you.

You can also use it to “Speak-to-Chat” which is connected to your smartphone and be paired simultaneously with up to two Bluetooth devices. The battery life can last up to 30 hours, and a charge of 10 minutes allows 5 hours of wireless playback.

From now until August 31, there is an early bird exclusive that will provide customers with a 1000X limited edition headphone stand and a Starbucks gift card worth RM50. You can purchase the WH-1000XM4 wireless headphones at The Curve and KLCC ‘s Sony Store, along with their online store and any authorised dealer.

As a musician, I would love to get my hands on this. What do you think of this new WH-1000XM4 wireless headphone?
