New RF Lenses Added To Canon EOS R Series

With the announcement of the EOS RP the younger sibling of Canon’s first full frame mirrorless EOS R, the Japanese camera giant is adding a slew of lenses to the new category.

Users who were miffed with the limited number of lenses when the EOS R was releases can now feel more comfortable as the new additions will surely add confidence to the EOS R ecosystem. Development of six new RF series interchangeable lenses for the RF mount to be released during 2019 they are three large aperture lenses for wide angle, two f/1.2 large aperture medium telephoto and a 24-240 zoom lens.

Enthusiast and professional photographers can look forward to the 15-35 mm, standard 24-70 mm and telephoto 70-200 mm zoom that features f/2.8 apertures across the entire zoom range to facilitate easy adjustments. Joining these will be two f/1.2 large aperture medium telephoto fixed focal length lenses  the RF85mm F1.2 L USM and RF85mm F1.2 L USM DS delivering large, exquisite bokeh effects when shooting wide open. The last is the super zoom RF24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM, a compact and lightweight lens—ideal for use with the EOS R and the EOS RP—covers an extensive focal length range from 24 mm at the wide angle end to 240 mm at the telephoto end.
