The Razer Blade gaming notebook is the industry standard when it comes to light but powerful machines. Despite that, Razer haven’t given the Blade a design update in a while – since 2013 in fact. There is good news though, as there is a new Blade in town. It comes with thinner bezels, a bigger screen, and NVIDIA’s Max-Q architecture.
The most noticeable change is the screen size. It now has a 15.6″ screen compared to the previous 14″ screen. Despite that, the actual notebook itself is only 0.4 inches larger than the old Razer Blade. That’s because the bezels are much thinner than before. In fact, Razer claims that the new Blade is the smallest 15.6″ gaming notebook on the market. There’ll be three screen options: 60Hz 1080p, 144Hz 1080p, and a 4K touchscreen option.
As for what’s underneath, it’ll feature the Intel Core i7-8750H. They come at a base frequency of 2.2GHz, with turbo boost to 4.1GHz. You can choose to have either the NVIDIA GTX 1060 or GTX 1070 with it. The GPUs are the Max-Q versions, meaning they take a small hit in performance for a big improvement towards heat and power consumption.
It has 16GB of RAM and either 256GB and 512GB of SSD storage as the standard choice. There’ll also be upgraded versions with 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. Connectivity options include a Thunderbolt 3 port, a Mini DisplayPort, a HDMI port, and three USB 3.1 Type-A ports. Razer claims the new 80Wh battery is better than previous incarnations too.
As for the price and availability in Malaysia, that remains to be seen but you can be sure we will update when news becomes available. In the meantime, you can check out the launch video for the new Razer Blade below:
