Following the rising number of graduates, Asran Rozain, Senior Business Human Resource Manager from the technical and production division of Nestle Malaysia shed light on the career opportunities at Nestle Malaysia and highlighted few key qualities graduates need to acquire in building a career in Fast Moving Customer Good (FMBG) industry.
Speaking during the industry career talk “Listen and Act: Paving Your Way To Industry”, Asran said candidates must first match their role in terms of qualification and soft skills accordingly regardless of whether they are aiming for an entry-level or mid entry-level positions.
“It is important to find the position that matches your qualification, something that interests and gives you joy for a long period of time in order to grow progressively in an organisation,” he said.
The essence of it is to showcase your ability; the functional and soft skills alike but also aim for the value that you want to add.
Another element Nestle is looking at during the hiring process is the candidate’s articulative skills whether they are able to communicate their message effectively. “Regardless in which role, communication is always to fundamental part for an efficient work culture and we at Nestle believe articulative candidates can deliver task and contribute to a good customer experience,” he added.
While it is good to acknowledge your strengths during the interview, he also advised a candidate to avoid sounding too embellished and overselling themselves during their interview session.
“I believe there is no such thing as a bad interview, each experience serves to propel you towards the right fit for you. At the end of the day job seeking is about suitability and availability for both parties, both criteria have to be meet in ensuring both are mutually benefited,” Asran said.
