#mydigitalmaker Prepares Youth for the Future

#mydigitalmaker Fair 2018 returns for its second year. The Fair provides students, teachers and parents a hands-on digital experience. The event is a joint collaboration between the Ministry of Education (MoE) and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

Dato’ Sulaiman Wak, Deputy Director-General, Education Policy and Development of Ministryof Education Malaysia, Ybhg Datuk Yasmin Mahmood, CEO of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation and the partners of #mydigitalmaker Fair 2018, which includes Engage Media SdnBhd, Astro, FusionexInternational, Digi Telecommunications, Microsoft Malaysia, SHELL MALAYSIA, Yayasan Sime Darby, 4×4 in School Malaysia, Apple Malaysia, Ardent Education Consultants Sdn Bhd, Chumbaka Sdn Bhd, EDU360 Academy, iTrain Kids Sdn Bhd, Kitamen Resources Sdn Bhd, micro:bit, and Oracle Academy.

It will be held from 29 to 30 September 2018 at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil. Attendees are set to experience activities such as robotics, 3D printing, as well as drone-making and racing. Additionally, there will be career talks and digital-based competitions.

The #mydigitalmaker Movement is an initiative to future-proof its youth for the future of work. It addresses the need to prepare the future generation for jobs in a digital world. Through public-private-academia partnership, it aims to transform Malaysian youth from being users of digital technology to digital producers.
