Keeping track of all the latest movies just got a hell of a lot easier
Google started off as just a simple search engine back in 1998 and full 21 years later, it’s probably the most invasive app in your life. From smart assistants to web browsers, smartphones to wearables, odds are, you’ve probably used Google or something owned by the company at least once. That being said, it’s probably a little surprising that it’s taken this long for them to include an “add to watchlist” button when you search for a movie.
That’s right movie buffs, you can now simply google the movie title and depending on the movie, add it to either your “Watchlist” or “Watched” bookmarks collection. Keeping track of all the latest movies and TV shows just got a hell of a lot easier! On top of that, if it’s something that’s available on YouTube, you will see a “Watch now” button along with its price whilst if it’s something that’s just released in the cinema, the button will read “Get tickets” instead, which will then take you to the showtimes tab. Pretty nifty, huh?
It sounds like something Google would’ve thought about a while ago but hey, I guess when you’re busy trying to take over make the world a better place, things do tend to slip in between the cracks. According to 9to5Google, who first broke the story, your watchlist tab will also come complete with cover art, making it easier for you to browse through that list of your favourite titles that you’ll probably take forever to pick just one out of anyway.
Does this feature solve the age old dilemma of choosing one movie from the list of 30 movies you’ve spent an hour narrowing down? No, but it does make it easier for you to keep track of the latest releases and what not.
The feature is only available on the website via mobile or through the Google app for Android and iOS so do keep that in mind. In fact, as of time of writing, we’ve not gotten access to the feature yet, but if these social media posts are anything to go by, it’s only a matter of time.
