Monster Hunter has a colourful history with Nintendo, with the series regularly topping charts in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS. However, the latest Monster Hunter World is only out on Sony and Microsoft’s consoles. Perhaps as recognition to long-time supporters, Capcom plans to release Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate on Nintendo Switch.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is a follow-up to its 3DS counterpart, known in Japan as Monster Hunter XX. The game features the same gameplay of challenging larger-than-life beasts. Players take control of a brave hunter to complete quests, yield resources, and craft countless equipments. Hunters will make use of six different weapons which boast unique styles of their own.

The most intriguing part about this release, however, is the reveal of cross-save compatibility. Indeed, players who own and have put hundreds of hours into the 3DS version can transfer their old save file over to the Switch version. Additionally, the game supports local and online multiplayer support up to three players. This is great for players who are constantly on the go and cannot afford to spend much time in one place.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate on Nintendo Switch will be on show at E3 next month. The game launches on 28th August 2018 worldwide.
