Mobile Legends has certainly taken gamers in Malaysia by storm. Indeed, at every mamak, you’re bound to find someone playing the game. Well, it’s not just for casual gamers; the Mobile Legends Professional League is back with MPL Season 2: The Rise of Legends. The three online qualifiers will happen from 22 June to 8 July.
The Grand Finals itself meanwhile will take place in October later this year. The champions will be taking home at least USD25,000 too! A total of USD100,000 is up for grabs in the tournament. As for us casual gamers, we’ll be getting a special MPL event in game. A portion of in-game purchases of the exclusive MPL items will contribute to the overall prize pool.
There’ll be a maximum of 512 teams per qualifier, and only six of them will enter the regular season. The first two qualifiers will be for Malaysia, happening on from 22-24 June and 29 June – 1 July. The top two teams from each qualifier will proceed to the regular season. Teams that finish third in each qualifier meanwhile will battle each other for a spot in the regular season. As for Singapore, their qualifier will be from 7-8 July, with the outright winner proceeding to the regular season.
Joining these teams are the top four teams from season one of the Mobile Legends Professional League. The ten teams will play each other in a round robin format through a best of three matches. Each match in the best of three rewards USD 200 to the winners, while an outright 2-0 in the best of three rewards the winners with USD600.
