Microsoft Team Up With Harman Kardon to Build Amazon Echo Competitor

In a short YouTube clip published by Microsoft, we’re shown the company’s first 3rd party project that includes Cortana. Cortana, of course, is Microsoft’s voice assistant with AI. But instead of taking on Apple’s Siri, the product shown is aimed at Alexa, its Amazon counterpart.

The product shown is a speaker/smart home device built by sound experts Harmon Kardon. It’s essentially just like the Amazon Echo, but with a screen on top for Cortana.

No actual information was given out, so we have no idea what price, or when exactly it’ll be released – but early next year is a good bet. Microsoft  has also hinted that Cortana will be coming to a host of new 3rd party devices including fridges next year, so  there’s something to look out for.
