Floods being one of the most devastating natural disasters in Malaysia will see the solution being able to give authorities a head up when high risk areas become dangerous to lives. In January, an estimated 15,000 Malaysians, mostly in Sabah and Perak were evacuated as flood waters rose to dangerous levels. Most recently in March, roads in Kuala Lumpur were submerged following intense rainfall.
The IoT solution collects, analyses and transmits critical information on rainfall, water levels, humidity to enable better flood prevention and mitigation measures. Using big data this information than can be used to better predict future eventualities.
In addition similar solution has been created to reduce energy consumption Smart Energy Management System allow building managers to make analytics-backed decisions to better manage energy usage across different sections or buildings.
Farming methods will also be enhanced for better yield with IOT platform that feeds farmers information such as temperature, moisture, conductivity, soil nutritional values – which can be critical to break or make a successful harvest season.
