Melinda Looi and Epson Malaysia are coming together to showcase an innovative collaboration, known as The Interiors, to light up the runway of the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW).

Drawing inspiration from the decorative elements of interior space, The Interiors collection looks at the curation of space with an eclectic mix of textures, patterns and colours. 20 of Looi’s creations are made using Epson’s digital textile printing and were showcased at the KLFW 2017.

Epson’s SureColour F-series digital textile dye sublimation printer allowed Looi and her creative team to try out new designs, colours and effects on textile. This gave her a wide range of flexibility and speed in trying out fresh print ideas without the exorbitant costs and time consuming mould or frame-making that as normally required.
“Technology can add an incredible advantage to apply innovation in the fashion industry. We no longer have to print thousands of metres of fabric; only what is needed and when it is needed,” comments Looi.
