MCMC Warns Of Fake Alibaba MDEC Company

Recently certain Malaysian conman were bold enough to use large government and corporation names to scam the public. This time, a fake document was found circulating whereby a supposed contractor used the names Alibaba and MDEC on the letter head to solicit business from customers.

Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission quickly highlighted this a fake document and advised the public to be wary of such a document making its rounds on its website. Citing such activity as illegal and has criminal intentions the government agency warned that action will be taken against those involved in such manipulation tactics.

In the mean time, MDEC has also posted similar message on its website notifying visitors to be alert of such a company trying to take advantage by using its name. The document has Alibaba MDEC Consortium Sdn Bhd as the company name and is dated 16-7-2018, it then invites contractors to submit their tender documents for construction of an MDEC office and other facility buildings at DFTZ Aeropolis near KLIA. We can only assume that these documents will require fees and contractors will be than asked to place huge amounts of deposits to win the tenders.

However, we have to thank the authorities for taking swift action in being able to pick up the fraud and to warn the public of such intentions by scrupulous individuals.
