Having finally realise that what customers want is more data, Maxis is prepared to upgrade all 1.5 million of its MaxisOnePlan customers data package by twice the value at the same price. For just a limited period of 5 days, between 15 and 19 November all customers under the postpaid plan will receive an automatic upgrade with a minimum of 2x more data quota at no extra cost on their existing plan and an additional 2x for weekend use.

But before you go out and celebrate together with US republican supporters, do take note the extra data is split between weekdays and weekends, something we find hard to comprehend. However, Head of Consumer Business Maxis, Dusyhan Vaithiyanathan notes that more of their customers use their phones on weekends, on video and entertaintment which is why the telco is offering more data on weekends. So, if you’re one of those than go ahead rejoice, but if you’re not than, the question is why the split?

Competition is democratising data and consumers are gettting in for better deals with cheaper prices compared to earlier this year when data offers were just a fraction starting at just 1GB!

Below are the special data offer based on the plans.

For example for those the MOP98 plan will get 10GB from 5GB, and an additional 10GB for weekends. Supplementary line users will also benefit with the upgrades on the double data offer.

MaxisONE Business and FlexiShare plans will also see similar upgrades for business customers very soon
