Maxis Rides High With Top Recognition From MCMC

Things are looking pretty at Maxis, the telco which underwent a transformational journey with CEO Morten Lundl back in 2014 has been winning accolades in all areas from service, network to performance, in fact the last quarter saw Maxis recording its highest ever!

Maybe that’s why when Malaysian Communication And Multimedia Commission awarded Maxis three awards in recognition for its services, there was no press releases sent to the media…as the operator is enjoying the moment and doesn’t want to gloat too much. But we feel the recognition warrants publicity as its no easy feat getting MCMC to acknowledge Maxis as the Best Cellular Service Provider, Public Cellular Service Provider and Best Network Investment. Its also important to note the “Star Rating” which is a point system award that looks into various parameters gives consumer satisfaction the heaviest weight-age.

The “Star Rating Award 2016” was part of the 14 key action items under the Strategic Consumer Empowerment Plan (2014-2016) by MCMC which is aimed at educating consumers of the types of services offered, championing their rights as well as creating a more effective self-regulatory environment. It is also intended to propel the industry towards being more consumer-centric for the benefit of the end-users.

Other winners for the night were, Tune Talk for Best MVNO, U Mobile for Best Network Investment while Digi clinched the title for “Best Quality of Service”.

During the event chairman Tan Sri Dr Halim Shafie wants consumers to have louder and a stronger voice, which can then become an effective tool to ensure that the Telcos are responsible for managing consumer expectation.
