LG Wants To Make A Connected World; Showing Off Their New Futuristic Innovations For Smarthomes

Inspiring a new connected way of living for consumers, LG have unveiled intuitive and innovative Smart Home concepts. The featured their new advanced lineup of home appliances, and home entertainment products. They started off LG Convention 2019 with a cute, kinda cringe video depicting a future we could possibly be in. Autonomous cars, robots to help manage our everyday activities, a smart closet that dresses you. Something straight out of a Jetson’s episode.

Some of their innovations they’ve included at their LG Convention 2019,  are the PuriCare Water purifier, PuriCare Air purifier, AI driven washing machines, smart refrigerators, and basically anything you can connect to the internet. It creates a somewhat ideal setting of the future, well a possible one anyway. These line of smart devices is LG’s way of driving health-combative innovations with a focus on providing their consumers with preventive care from microorganisms, pollutants, and such.

PuriCare Air Purifier

One thing that was of interest, was the washing machine. They’re powered by what LG are calling “AI DD”, which will detect the softness of the fabric, the weight, and other smart features. You can even see when its done, using the ThinQ app. Just dumping clothes in the machine, and not having to think about those complicated settings? Yes please. There’s also a ‘TurboWash’ lineup of washing machines ,which will go hard on dirt but ‘easy’ on fabrics.

The LG Styler

And believe it or not, LG even showed off the LG Styler, which is basically an automatic ironing device.  You put your clothes into what seems to be like a closet, and using TrueSteam technology, reduces wrinkles and odours.

The thing about these new devices are that they’re equipped with the LG Smart ThinQ.

What that means is that you’ll be able to control all your LG smart devices as well as partnered companies smart devices, from various avenues. One of course, is the LG ThinQ app on your phone, from where you can control your air conditioner, fridge, washer, and other smart devices. You’ll also be able to monitor these devices, and even has a smart diagnosis which helps to figure out the problem with your device. You will also be able to use LG’s Smart TV lineup to control your other smart devices. This is done through the ‘Dashboard’, so that’s another level of connected if you ask me. Control your TV, Washing Machine, Fan and even A/C without having to get up? That’s the future.

“At LG, our underlying drive to provide consumers with a better life goes beyond the basics. We want to provide our consumers with an elevated experience that allows them to make smarter, healthier and freer choices in their day-to-day lives. In line with the today’s Smart Home Concept introductions, we want to provide Malaysian consumers with the opportunities to create seamless connections at home with our LG Smart ThingQ technology, even on-the-go- Keeping them hygienic, healthy, and making life overall good,” said Kim Kyutae, Managing Director, LG Electronics Malaysia.

It’s an interesting look into the future of homes. Totally autonomous, controllable from either your phone or your TV, and LG wants to be the one powering this future.
